About Benjamin

Benjamin Dunn is a candidate for the SC Senate District 20 seat. He earned a BS in Biological Sciences, summa cum laude with Senior Departmental Honors, from Clemson University and a JD from the University of South Carolina, where he served on the Editorial Board of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal.  He is a partner in the Columbia law firm of Ormond | Dunn, where he represents clients in disputes involving real property, contractual matters, and employment issues, as well as closing residential and commercial real estate transactions.    

In addition to his law practice, Ben has served as an infantry and air defense officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard for over twenty years. In 2004-2005 he was deployed to Afghanistan where he served on an Embedded Training Team advising an infantry company of the Afghan National Army.  Ben was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star for his actions while deployed. He currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel with the 678th Fires Brigade.

Ben is married to Maureen, his best friend and mother of their four children, ages 9 to 15.  He is a member of the Richland County and South Carolina Bar Associations and Riverland Hills Baptist Church.
